Carolina Behavioral Counseling offers a range of services to match your needs. Individual and family counseling is available. Any path you follow will ultimately guide you towards a more fulfilling life. See below for more information about each service.
We are in network with BCBS and Optum / United Healthcare insurance. We also accept self-pay clients using cash or check for office-based sessions, and all major credit cards for office-based and online sessions.
Individual counseling is a great opportunity to establish and achieve personal goals. My collaborative style inspires you to cultivate insight and envision your ideal life, while I help to build the steps towards that path.
Couples / Family counseling affords a safe environment to learn and practice techniques to improve the language of your relationship and your family dynamic. We will work together to find healthy balance of structure and spontaneity that fits your home life.
Online counseling (also referred to as tele-therapy or distance counseling) is becoming more and more popular to meet clients' needs. For clients who have busy schedules, challenges with transportation, or live further away, online counseling is a great option.
Most of my techniques come from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Both of these styles are evidence-based and have reliable research findings supporting their effectiveness.
CBT's philosophy is that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. When you change a negative thought to a more positive thought, you start to feel better, which changes your behaviors to become more effective for your life.
SFBT gets right to the point: how can we find solutions for your problems? With every new client, I pose the question: “if a miracle occurred today and your life was exactly how you wanted it to be, what would that look like?” In a way, your answers to this question tell me what your goals are.
Like you, I want to see results as soon as possible. So, once we figure out your goals (typically within the first few sessions), we can start working towards those goals immediately. There is no set limit on the length of treatment, which allows us to go at your pace.
