Kimberly Dorsey

I find it a privilege to assist clients in their journey through life's challenges and guiding them towards self awareness and personal growth. Since I understand that therapy can be a vulnerable place, I take pride in helping clients find joy and healing in the therapy process. I view the counseling relationship as a partnership where my skills complement the strengths my clients bring to the process.

I approach each client with “unconditional positive regard” and structure each session with the individual's needs in mind. I believe that by facilitating a nurturing environment with a client centered focus, it enhances the healing process as it relates to trauma, unresolved grief, and abuse that underlies many mental health issues.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Licensed Addiction Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor. I completed my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling at Webster University in 2020. I formerly worked as a counselor at an addiction recovery center, where I treated individuals and their families whose lives had been devastated by addiction.

In that environment, I was able to hone my skills in trauma informed care and treating co-occurring mental health disorders. I also have experience working with depression, anxiety, OCD, women's issues and self-esteem issues. I enjoy working with adolescents, and adults of all ages.
